Zakat to a minor

Question

If zakat money is given to a minor orphan child, will the zakat be discharged or not?

Answer

If that orphan is capable of taking possession (qabd), the zakat will be discharged by giving it to him — provided that he is a recipient of zakat, that is, he is not wealthy, a Hashimi, and the like.
