Women donating to a madrasa gathering without their husbands’ permission
Question
Zayd, Bakr and a few others together wanted to hold a gathering of the madrasa. With the permission of the madrasa’s rector, grain was collected as donations in the village from women and others without the permission of their husbands, which the women gave willingly, and the gathering was held with this income. What is the ruling on this?
Answer
It is true that a woman may not dispose of her husband’s property without his permission. But when the husbands are agreeable to this disposal, then all of this grain collected as donations is lawful according to the Shari‘a, and objecting to it now is out of place.
