How Long Should the Lamp Burn in the Mosque

Question

In a mosque the lamp is filled with oil and lit before the Maghrib prayer. Then, when the ʿIsha prayer is over and there is no longer any hope of worshippers coming, is it better to put the lamp out or not? Or is it appropriate to put it out by morning — or not?

Answer

When people are no longer expected to come, the lamp should be put out.
