The Mosque’s Money for Trade

Question

May one trade with the mosque’s money on behalf of the mosque or not?

Answer

The mosque’s money is a trust (amana) with the mutawalli (trustee); to dispose of it in any other way, investing it in business and the like, is not permissible.
