The Imam’s Salary from the Rent of Mosque Shops and from Wedding Receipts

Question

May the imam’s salary be paid from the mosque’s money that is obtained from the rent of shops and on the occasion of weddings, or not? And may it be used for the construction of a washroom and the like, or not?

Answer

Giving such money as salary, and spending it on the mosque’s hammam (water-heating room) and washroom, is valid according to the Shariʿa.
