Each mistakenly slaughtered the other’s sacrificial animal
Question
Two men bought two goats for the sacrifice, but there was no mark on them by which each could recognise his own goat — or there was a mark, but they forgot it — and each of them sacrificed one goat. Afterwards it became known that neither had sacrificed his own goat; rather, each had sacrificed the other’s goat. In this case, is a repeat sacrifice binding on both of them?
Answer
No; rather, the sacrifice of both has been accomplished (“Shami”, vol. 5, p. 210).
