Fasting by the one offering the sacrifice

Question

Question: Is it proper for the one offering the sacrifice to fast or not?

Answer

Fasting on the day of sacrifice is haram. However, the sunna is that on Eid al-Adha, the tenth, one should neither eat nor drink anything before the sacrifice, and should begin one’s eating with the meat of the sacrifice.
