Which is better: a seventh share or a goat

Question: Is it better to sacrifice by taking a seventh share in a cow, a buffalo or a camel, or is the sacrifice of a male goat better?

Answer

The sacrifice of a separate male goat is better, when its value is equal to a seventh share of a cow and the like, or greater (al-Durr al-Mukhtar, vol. 5, p. 205).
