The sacrifice of which animal is better?
Question
Question: For a Muslim who owns the nisab, is there any difference in reward in the sacrifice of a camel, a buffalo, a cow, a fat-tailed ram, a male goat or a sheep, or between their males and females? Or is the sacrifice of all of them equally permissible, so that whichever of these animals he sacrifices, there will be no difference, deficiency or harm either in the reward or in the performance of the sacrifice?
Answer
The sacrifice of an animal that is offered on behalf of one person only, with no partnership (shirka) in it, is better (afdal), provided that its meat and value are not inferior to or less than those of an animal in which several people share; otherwise, a seventh share in a shared animal will be better.
