Is a wife of loose conduct who has been divorced entitled to mahr and maintenance?

Question: If a wife becomes of loose conduct and runs away from her husband’s house, and in this situation the husband gives her talaq, will the husband have to pay the mahr and the ‘idda maintenance, or only the mahr?

Answer

The mahr will have to be paid in full, and the ‘idda maintenance will also have to be given: the ‘idda maintenance does not lapse because of this unworthy act of the wife. However, if she does not spend the ‘idda in the husband’s house, the ‘idda maintenance will lapse.
