The Maternal Grandfather’s Right to Claim from the Child’s Paternal Grandfather the Money Spent on Upbringing

Question

Question: A man passed away, leaving behind a son and his widowed wife. Some time later the wife also passed away. The deceased’s son was being brought up by his paternal grandfather, but after his mother’s death the paternal grandfather refused to bring him up, and the boy was brought up at his maternal grandfather’s. After that the boy’s maternal grandfather and grandmother said to the boy: “The expenses we have incurred on your upbringing — take them from your paternal grandfather and give them to us.

Answer

Did the maternal grandfather, before undertaking the upbringing, make this condition with the paternal grandfather: “Whatever is spent on his upbringing I will take from you”? And did the paternal grandfather accept this condition?
