A conversation in which talaq is not mentioned

Question

Zayd’s wife told Zayd to pray, and Zayd said: “I will pray from tomorrow, and if I do not pray from tomorrow, then the matter will be completely finished”. Then Zayd’s wife said: “When the matter is finished, you go to your house and I to mine.” After this Zayd again said: “I said I would pray one prayer-time; I will pray one time.” When the next day came, Zayd prayed neither Fajr nor Zuhr, nor ‘Asr and Maghrib; he prayed only the ‘Isha’ prayer.

Answer

Despite both kinds of conversation, talaq has not taken effect; the nikah remains intact as before.
