Talaq by saying “The food of my house is haram for you”

Question

Zayd said to his wife: “تجھ پر میرے گھر کا کھانا حرام ہے، کسی عالم سے پوچھ لے” (“The food of my house is haram for you; ask some scholar”), after which the wife began to observe the veil from him. It has also become known that Zayd had once before already given one talaq, but on the counsel of a certain man his wife maintained her relations with him. Now the aforementioned sentence “The food of my house is haram for you; ask some scholar” points to the earlier talaq.

Answer

By the sentence “The food of my house is haram for you” no talaq has taken effect, nor does it point to any earlier talaq, since after that first talaq there was a taking back (ruju‘) and the marital bond remained.
