A Well Does Not Become Impure from Rice and the Like [Thrown In] in Worship
Question
Five to seven non-Muslim households take water from a well for their needs, and on the occasion of their festivities they light lamps and throw them into the well, throw in rice and coconuts, and worship it thoroughly. Is it permissible for Muslims to use its water or not? What is the ruling of the Shari'a on this?
Answer
This practice is wrong; nevertheless, the well has not become impure because of these things, and it is proper to use its water.
