Hazrat Gangohi’s ﵀ Fatwa on Animal Testicles

Question

Question: Some people say that, regarding the testicles of animals, Mawlana Gangohi ﵀ wrote in his fatwas that eating the testicles of a he-goat is permissible according to the Shari‘a. Is this correct?

Answer

Attributing this to Hazrat Mawlana Gangohi ﵀ is not correct; rather, it is a slander against him: he wrote that the testicles of a he-goat are prohibited. See “Fatawa Rashidiyya” (printed by Khwaja Barqi Press, Delhi, 1352 AH), volume two, and “Tadhkirat al-Rashid”, part one, p. 174.
