Eating the skin of a lawful animal
Question
Is it permissible to eat skin or not?
Answer
The skin of an animal whose meat is permissible to eat is also in order to eat: for example, the skin of birds — pigeons, chickens and the like — or the hide of a newborn calf or kid. And if the hide of a cow or a goat is made fit for eating, there is no harm in that either, that is, it is not forbidden by the Shari‘a.
