Acting on a Weak Narration in Merits: The Fast and the Night of Mid-Sha‘ban
Question
In our area last year the fast of the fifteenth of Sha‘ban was not observed, and it was said that this fast is not established by any sound (sahih) hadith. Is this correct? Moreover, they declare this fast a bid‘a (innovation in religion). Are weak hadiths taken into account in matters of merits (fada’il) or not?
