Is each tarwiha a separate prayer, or is the whole tarawih one prayer?
Question
Some people say that making du‘a after every prayer is established, and therefore in tarawih too one may make du‘a after every four rak‘as, and likewise a collective du‘a may be held after the witr.
Answer
Making du‘a after every prayer is correct. The tarawih as a whole has the status of a single prayer, and therefore du‘a is made at its conclusion. After every four rak‘as, too, there is a choice: to do dhikr, du‘a, salawat, or recitation of the Qur’an — whatever they wish. Arranging a collective du‘a is not established; one should be cautious of it.
