A passageway between the rows
Question
In our neighbourhood there is a madrasa called Madrasa Rahmani, housed in a large building. The building has three storeys; the five daily prayers, as well as Jumu‘a and the two ‘Ids, are performed there. This is a large room; it even has a minbar — it is, as it were, a mosque. Opposite this room there is another room; between these two rooms there is space of more than one row left for a passage, and there is coming and going through it.
Answer
In such a situation this middle passage does not prevent following the imam (iqtida’) or the validity of the prayer; therefore the prayer of those who join the prayer in that second room will also be valid: [ar]ويمنع من الاقتداء طريق تجري فيه عجلة. التنوير. قوله: (أو طريق) أي نافذ، أبو السعود عن شيخه.
