Praying in shoes

Question

What is the ruling on performing the ‘Id prayer wearing new shoes? Do the Ahl-e Hadith have any hadith by which the permissibility of this prayer is established?

Answer

Praying in shoes is established. At that time the public roads were not in the state they have now come to because of filth everywhere. Moreover, the mosque had pebbles lying in it, and no rugs, carpets and the like were spread, as they are now.
