The Imamate of One Who Eats Earth from a Shrine and Prostrates on It

Question

If a person who eats earth from a shrine and prostrates on the shrine gives the [shrine’s] attendant a chicken, a castrated goat or sweets, are all these things haram? And is prayer behind such people permissible or not?

Answer

If these things are offerings made in the name of a saint, then taking them is haram. Appointing such a person as imam is makruh tahrimi.
