Appointing as imam one who abandons the fard

Question

A person abandons the fard prayer. What is [the ruling on] appointing him as imam?

Answer

Appointing such a person, who is in the habit of abandoning the fard prayer, as imam of tarawih is makruh tahrimi; he should by no means be made imam.
