Scratching with the left hand during the prayer

Question

If, while standing (qiyam) in the prayer, an itch arises somewhere on the body and for some reason [the person] scratches it with the left hand — is the prayer broken or not? For the imam here says that the prayer did not count and that one should scratch with the right hand.

Answer

If he cannot restrain the itch, then in the state of qiyam he should scratch with the right hand; but if he scratched with the left, the prayer did not become fasid (invalid) merely because it was the left hand.
