The ruling on praying in a kurta above the knees

Question

Is it permissible to lead the prayer as imam while wearing a kurta (long shirt) that ends above the knees?

Answer

If the kurta does not reach the knees but is somewhat shorter, the prayer and the leading of it are valid in it as well, although the better course is for the kurta to be longer than that.
