A children’s game involving both gambling and interest
Question
Question: A game is going on among children: they bring a board from the market; a child, taking 5/10 paise (small copper coins, fractions of a rupee), tears off a slip, and whatever number comes out, the child receives money accordingly; and if it does not come out, the child gets nothing.
Answer
This game involves both gambling and interest. Children must never be permitted to play it, and they should not be given money for this purpose. Their moral upbringing is the responsibility of the elders; neglecting it is a violation of rights and an injustice to the children.
