The Hadith About an Hour’s Stand in the Path of Allah
Question
[ar]مَوْقِفُ سَاعَةٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْعِبَادَةِ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ عِنْدَ حَجَرِ الْأَسْوَدِ[/ar] “Standing [on watch] for an hour in the path of Allah is better than worship on Laylat al-Qadr at the Black Stone” — or words to that effect. Kindly grant us the hadith reference.
Answer
Other wordings [conveying] very lofty merits [of standing in the path of Allah] have indeed come [in the narrations]. I do not recall having seen this exact wording. It is possible that it occurs in some narration; if whoever stated or wrote this gave any reference, it should be looked up there.
