The Meaning of the Verse "Obey Allah and Obey the Messenger"

Question

What is the meaning of: [ar]أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ[/ar] "Obey Allah and obey the Messenger" (Surah An-Nisa, 4:59)?

Answer

Obedience to Allah Most High and to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is obligatory, and it takes precedence over obedience to anyone else.
