Giving the Salam at the Time of Nikah

Question

Is it permissible or not for the groom to stand up immediately after the nikah and give the salam? And if someone, regarding it as a custom, does not do it, is it permissible to call him bad?

Answer

This salam too has no proof in the Shari‘a. It is therefore a custom, and reproaching the one who abandons it is impermissible.
