The Mahr May Also Be Paid in Instalments

Question

The mahr was fixed at four thousand rupees. At present Zayd’s situation is such that he cannot pay it in one lump sum. What is permissible for him?

Answer

With the wife’s consent, it is permitted to pay it in instalments as well.
