The Amount of the Mahr of Fatima

Question

What was the actual mahr of Hazrat Fatima ﵂, given that we have read in some books fifty-two and a half tolas (a unit of weight, ≈ 11.66 g) or four hundred and eighty (480) dirhams? And are 25 rupees also the mahr of Fatima?

Answer

The mahr of Fatima (the mahr given to Fatima ﵂) is not 25 rupees but approximately 132 tolas of silver. According to the calculation of some scholars it is even somewhat more than this, up to 150 tolas, as stated in the marginal notes (hawashi) of the Mishkat.
