Marriage of an Adulteress’s Daughter to a Respectable Young Man

Question

A girl from a respectable and good family becomes unlawfully pregnant (the man by whom the pregnancy occurred was an unbeliever). However, six months after the baby girl is born, this girl is married to a respectable young man. At present the girl born in this unlawful manner is 16/17 years old. The girl is sensible, educated, performs prayer, is religious and understands Islam. Can any respectable young man from a good family marry such a girl?

Answer

A girl who, because of her mother’s mistake, was born in a wrong (unlawful) situation, and who now, having reached maturity, is righteous, religious and respectable — if some respectable young man wishes to marry her, it is permissible for him to marry her. There is no obstacle to this girl’s marriage because of her mother’s mistake.
