Nikah with One’s Stepmother’s Sister

Question

The son of the first wife and the sister of the second wife — will their nikah with each other be permissible or not?

Answer

If there are two sisters, and a man marries one of them while his son marries the other, the Sharia permits it. That is, the sister of one’s stepmother is not prohibited (haram) as one’s real maternal aunt is; rather, nikah with her is permissible.
