Flowers on the Shroud or Grave, and Applying Perfume

Question

What is the ruling on placing flowers on a grave or on the kafan (shroud)? And what is the ruling on applying perfume?

Answer

The perfume that is applied to the deceased while dressing him in the kafan is established, and that alone suffices; flowers should be placed neither on the kafan nor in the grave.
