Travelling to Visit Ajmer Sharif

Question

If we set out from home with the intention of visiting Ajmer Sharif, and on arriving there made the visit, recited as much salawat as we could, gifted [its reward] and came back — is this right or not?

Answer

Visiting graves is mustahabb. It lessens the love of this world and brings the Hereafter to mind. Conveying reward by reciting the Noble Qur’an is also established and beneficial. [But] even into acts that are done purely for reward people have introduced things such that, instead of reward, they bring about sin.
