Contributing to a Puja at School and Eating the Puja Meal
Question
We live in a place where Hindus are the majority. There are three high schools nearby, but none of them taught Urdu, and those of us who pass out have some difficulty in obtaining employment. So after great effort we this year set up a private grant-aided Urdu high school, to which the school’s managing committee elected me, and my salary is at present paid by that committee.
Answer
If this food and these things have no connection with the puja, then in the present situation no ruling of kufr or shirk will apply on account of contributing toward the meal and eating it.
