What a general attorney receives if his remuneration was not agreed
Question
Question: A woman named Amira appointed a man, Zayd, as her general attorney to obtain and protect her property and to settle lawsuits and affairs, without settling any remuneration for the service. Zayd accepted becoming general attorney in the hope that the said lady would certainly give remuneration — whereas the said Amira would surely pay me, Zayd — while Zayd was performing the same kind of service elsewhere for five hundred rupees a month.
Answer
If Zayd does this work for remuneration, and other people too engage him for this work for remuneration, then the said woman too owes him its remuneration (the standard wage, ajr al-mithl). It is like a lawyer (wakil)
