Is Muharram on the same day as Eid?

Question: People say that on whatever day Eid falls, Muharram falls on that same day. Is this necessarily so?

Answer

The claim that on whatever day Eid falls Muharram falls on that same day is not established by any Shari‘a proof; it is the experience of some people, which is not constant: the opposite also happens.
