Forgiving abuse, and making oneself head of the community
Question
If someone abuses the community with an insult concerning daughters and then asks the community for forgiveness, should he be forgiven or not? And what is the ruling on becoming the head of the community?
Answer
Abusing is a wrong way. If someone abused in anger and then, regretting it, asks for forgiveness, he should be forgiven. To desire and strive to become head of the community on one’s own initiative is wrong.
