A photo for receiving one’s pay

Question

My service is about to reach twenty-two years. For a pension the completion of twenty-five years is required, but a photo is necessary in order to draw the pension. Since the words “أشد الناس عذابا يوم القيامة المصورون” (“The people most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be the image-makers”) have come before my eyes, in this situation, if I have a photo taken to obtain the pension, will it be permissible or a sin?

Answer

If not receiving the pension without a photo will not cause you much hardship and you are able to bear it, then do not have a photo taken.
