Are the moon and the sun in the heaven?

Question

Question: Where are the moon and the sun? Are they stationary or moving? If they are in the heaven, then in which heaven, and in which verse of the Qur’an is this stated? Can a human being reach the moon, the sun and the stars or not? If he cannot, then what is the refutation of America’s claim of going to the moon; and if he can, then what is the proof for it from the Qur’an and hadith? Also, what is the meaning of the subjection (taskhir)

Answer

Both of them are below the heaven and are moving; so it is in al-ʿAraʾis. If a human being reaches the moon, no contradiction with the Holy Qur’an or the noble hadith follows. Shaykh Saʿdi wrote in the Gulistan (“The Rose Garden”)
