Attending the burial of Hazrat ‘Ali ﵁ in a dream

Question

Question: On a Friday I see in a dream that I am going somewhere. After crossing a forest I reached a desert, with nothing but sand all around. I was walking along like that when suddenly at one place I met some people, all of them in Arab dress, that is, in the dress of pilgrims. They called me by my real name and said, “Just throw some earth (take part in the burial) before you go.” I stopped, because I did not even have a cap to put on my head.

Answer

The dream, ma sha’ Allah, is very blessed. The interpretation is that all the wrong practices carried out in the name of Hazrat ‘Ali ﵁ and Hazrat Husayn ﵁ — ta‘ziya (replica tombs carried in Muharram processions) and the like — should be brought to an end. May Allah the Pure grant us the following of the Sunna. Amin.
