Advising one’s mother to sell land and buy a permanent house
Question
Is it appropriate or not to advise one’s mother in this way: that she sell the entire share of the land she received as mahr, buy a house in the city with its cash proceeds, and meet her needs from its rent?
Answer
There is no harm in giving good advice, but she should not be compelled: if she wishes, she may accept the advice, and if she does not wish, she may not accept it.
