Using a turban with silver embroidery

Question

Is it permissible to use a turban on which designs have been made with silver threads? And how is it to tie it on the head?

Answer

If this design along the edge is less than or equal to four fingers, it is allowed, even if it is so dense that the cloth is hidden. This ruling is found in al-Durr al-Mukhtar. If it is not along the edge but over the whole turban, and when it is all put together it does not exceed four fingers, that too is correct.
