Introducing the husband’s blood into the wife’s body

Question

Question: A woman has become seriously ill; the doctors advise that blood be introduced into her body. No one else’s blood matches except the husband’s blood. So now the husband’s blood is introduced into the woman’s body. If blood is introduced into the woman’s body in this way for the sake of her health, will the nikah between them remain? If not, what will be the way for the nikah between them?

Answer

Because of this act the nikah will not become fasid (invalid). However, the use of human blood — internal and external — is haram in every way, whether it is the husband’s or someone else’s. Therefore, until the level of dire necessity (idtirar) is reached, it is by no means permitted.
