Killing bedbugs with hot water

Question

Question: When bedbugs are troublesome, is it permissible to kill the bedbugs by pouring boiling water over the bed or the wooden platform used for sitting and sleeping, or not?

Answer

When they are troublesome and cannot be stopped in any other way, then pouring hot boiling water over the rope bed is permissible.
