Food from a celebration at which a band plays
Question
Question: If a Muslim is holding the wedding of a son or daughter, and at the wedding there is a band (wind and percussion instruments) and the like, or a loudspeaker is playing and so on, and he invites people to a meal — is it proper to have the food fetched from his place and eat it in one’s own home, or not?
Answer
By doing so one is indeed protected from taking part in an impermissible gathering, but one whom others follow (muqtada) should not have it fetched even to his own house: in that there is hope of reform.
