Islamic Socialism

Question

Zayd belongs to a party that wants Islamic socialism, that is, Islamic equality (musawat). By equality is meant that the poor man and the common people should receive bread and the like, and each his own right, in the light of Islam; and every member of the party, and Zayd too, believes in God, the Messenger and the Last Day, and performs prayer, fasting and zakat.

Answer

To declare any Muslim group or Muslim party kafir or apostate is a matter of great responsibility; so long as their kufr is not established by decisive texts (nusus qat‘iyya), it cannot be undertaken. If it is done without decisive proofs, there is a strong fear that this kufr will recoil upon the one who undertakes it.
