Can Sin Issue From the Companions ﵃?

Question

Can the noble Companions ﵃ commit a sin or not? What does Mawdudi say?

Answer

The noble Companions ﵃ have conferred a tremendous favour upon the Umma: they received the religion from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ, placing his trust in them, taught them the religion and made them the means of its propagation; then they spread it all their lives — wherever they could reach, there they went and conveyed the religion.
