Selling hal (liquid gold)
Question
Question: Hal (that is, liquid gold water, made by dissolving gold with acidic substances and painted onto bangles, making the bangle look golden and attractive) is generally sold here on credit. But at this time, when the means of purchase is not silver but the banknote, buying and selling hal on credit does not fall under interest, does it? Is it permissible because of widespread necessity (‘umum al-balwa)?
Answer
This does not fall under interest; buying and selling it, even on credit, is permissible.
