Selling brushes of pig bristle as appended to the wood

Question

Question: Among the brushes that come nowadays for cleaning shoes and the like, there are some that contain pure pig bristle. Since besides this bristle there is also wood and the like in these brushes, can any latitude be found on this basis, to any degree, for buying and selling them or not?

Answer

Whatever wood and the like there is, its purchase is not the primary aim (asalatan); it is merely subordinate. Therefore the sale of pig bristle will not be permitted on account of the wood and the like.
